Review of The Jungle Book
by Brianna L.
The Jungle Book is a very interesting movie. This movie is about Mowgli (Neel Sethi), who has to stop Shere Khan (Idris Elba) before he eats him. With the help of some friends, can Mowgli finally stop Shere Khan?
The movie opens with Mowgli running through the forest, learning how to run with the pack. In sharp contrast, the beginning of the hand-drawn animated movie opens with Mowgli as a baby in an old abandoned boat.
In this Jungle Book, King Louie (Christopher Walken) is literally huge, but in the hand-drawn one, King Louie was an orangutan. Kaa (Scarlet Johansson) was a girl and freakishly large, but in the hand-drawn movie, Kaa was a boy and wasn't so large. In this movie there was a drought and a Peace Rock, then Shere Khan (Idris Elba) threatens Mowgli which never happens in the hand-drawn version.
This movie totally stunk because it was inaccurate and scary. I couldn't believe it was rated PG; it should be rated PG-13. In my notes on this movie, there was only one positive note: the jungle sets are really cool, and the CGI is really good.
I would like to speak to Jon Favreau, the director of the film, and tell him that his movie stinks worse than my tennis shoes after I run a mile. I really hope you're happy Walt Disney Studios, because this movie is terrible. Walt Disney probably would not like this movie.
I closed my eyes during about half of the movie because there are so many scary parts. Rudyard Kipling would not be happy with this movie. Every moment in the movie involving the tiger is scary. If I had to rate this movie, I would give it a F.
This movie is one of the most awful movies I've seen in a long time. I don' t want to see it again, and after you watch it, you'll feel the same way too because it just might be something to waste your money. Don't see The Jungle Book, or you'll feel just as sorry as I am when you come out of that movie theater.
